Dog of the Week: Nugget

Nugget is available for adoption at the Meridian Canine Rescue

Hi, my name is Nugget. As you can guess, I was named Nugget because I am tiny like a nugget. I am 6 pounds of love, love, love.

I was a stray from Phoenix who was brought to the county pound. My owners never came looking for me so I was put up for adoption. A nice lady from Annie’s Rescue Ride came to rescue me because I needed my teeth cleaned and no one wanted me because of that. So, I had some teeth removed and the rest are clean and polished. And, I even had my blood drawn to make sure I was healthy. I do have a heart murmur but I am healthy and show no signs of sickness.

My perfect day would consist of sleeping on the couch, going outside to sunbathe, riding in the car and then going for a leisurely walk. I am housebroken, quiet, well-mannered and an overall great little guy. I don’t want to brag, but I am pretty perfect.

This 9-10 year old gentleman is ready to make a home here in Idaho. He is friendly and cuddly and good with other dogs. Nugget is living in a foster home right now, where he likes to follow his foster dad around the garage as he’s doing projects. Call us at 208-794-0944 if you’d like to set up a meet-and-greet with Nugget.

The Meridian Canine Rescue, 501 E. Scenery Lane, is open from 12-5 p.m. Thursday through Sunday. The rescue’s phone number is 208-794-0944.
