MERIDIAN — Mountain View senior Josh Buss knew he wanted to play at the University of Montana. And after visiting the school last weekend, the Mavericks’ star running back verbally committed Nov. 16 to a football scholarship from the Grizzlies.

Two weeks ago, Mountain View coaches sat around the coaches’ office following a 45-21 win against Borah when head coach Judd Benedick made a telling statement about senior Josh Buss, who had just set a school rushing record at 327 yards.

After a heartbreaking overtime loss in the Treasure Valley semifinals last year to Centennial, a young and relatively inexperienced Mountain View High lacrosse team vowed to be more prepared the next time around.
