Idaho Elite Football Academy is hosting a youth workshop and football camp on April 14-15.

An evening seminar for parents and students is from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on April 14 at Vision Charter School, 19291 Ward Road, Caldwell. The Saturday skills clinic is the following day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Sage Valley Middle School 18070 Santa Ana Ave., Nampa.

The event is certified by the National Collegiate Athletic Association and uses programs by Thompson College Recruiting, according to a press release. 

The seminar goes over the college recruiting process and what parents and athletes can do now to prepare in areas such as education, training and nutrition.

At the Saturday skills clinic, led by college football recruiter BT Thompson from California, athletes will go through high-level drills. No pads or helmets are needed.

The Idaho Elite Football Academy will launch its 2017 practices April 12. The academy costs $150 to join and is open to players age 8 to 17. Practices are held one to two times per week.

The Academy also coordinates local football camps and travels to camps and competitions around the country during the spring and summer months. The practices and competitions are non-tackle and are intended to increase an athlete’s skill, strength and conditioning, according to a press release.
